Te Kahu Ora – the Cloak of Health

Discover how this innovative piece of technology was developed to keep Kiwis safe from the spread of Covid-19 during the pandemic.

With the virus spreading at a daunting rate abroad, safe and efficient methods to identify potential infection became crucial to keeping Aotearoa safe. The technology uses a thermal camera to get an accurate, quick and contact-free temperature reading.

Find out more about how the Te Kahu Ora – the Cloak of Health was adapted from The Cacophony Project, originally designed to whakaruruhau protect New Zealand’s native bird species and keep NZ Predator Free.
