Planned and not so planned maintenance

To keep our collection operational, and in good condition for future generations, we occasionally need to close certain areas to perform checks and maintenance procedures.
As our collection contains many irreplaceable heritage items, some of which, like the Pumphouse are in daily use, we may sometimes need to close areas or exhibits to give them some TLC. Where possible, we try to schedule maintenance work during quiet periods to minimise the disruption to visitors.

PUMPHOUSE BOILER: After steaming through Christmas Lights with flying colours, the boiler has been taken offline for repairs. An alternative steam engine will be placed outside the Pumphouse until the boiler is ready to be used again.
