Telecommunications is open in Red of the Covid-19 Protection Framework but with limited numbers at a time. On Tuesdays, our Telecommunications Team will be there to answer any of your questions between 10am - 2pm.

This long time MOTAT favourite offer a unique hands-on experience of telecommunication equipment and technology. Try your hand at Morse code, play at being the switchboard operator, or use a rotary telephone. And don’t forget to make a free phone call in the 1970s Auckland phone box.

On Tuesdays the telecommunications gallery really comes to life when the team of expert MOTAT volunteers guides you through the stories and objects in the exhibition.

Location: Building 4 at M1, Great North Road.

Entrance: Motion sensor automatic doors and a fairly wide entrance.

Stairs: There are no stairs but space is quite confined.

Noise: Videos and interactives throughout the exhibition.

Mobility parking is available on site at M1. Please arrange in advance.
