Squish! Bang! Splat! is where science meets play, noise and art. Over two fun-filled days, tamariki and their whānau can discover and explore all things squishy, loud and messy together through experiments, instruments, games and performance.
Catch a live Science Show with Little Scientists outside our science and technology centre, Te Puawānanga, at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.
In between Science Shows, our hosts will be demonstrating different Squish! Bang! Splat! themed science experiments inside the centre at Science Alive Te Manawa Magic Box.
Enjoy performances and multi-instrumentalist workshops by Rhythm for the Soul and Pacific Log Drumming - with live drummers and dancers - give it a go yourself at a log drum workshop!
Play it loud and try out different instruments and objects, including our popular percussion wall and rain drums, to explore difference sounds.
Looking for somethings less loud? Have a go with wax hand moulds, a water balloon catapult and splatter paint your very own canvas to take home with Rainbow Rascals.
Bring dad along for a fun-filled Fathers Day on Sunday - there's plenty more to explore with Accelerate, an exhibition showcasing some of New Zealand's best loved vehicles and the award-winning MOTAT Aviation Hall which hosts a large collection of recreational, military and commercial aircraft, as well as heritage tram rides for the whole family to enjoy.
Squish! Bang! Splat! included in General Admission and is recommended for kids aged 7 – 12 years.
